Homer Zuckerman is Fern's Uncle. He has a farm within walking distance of the Arable home. When Wilber started to eat solid food and was growing larger, Fern was told by her father that she had to sell him. Fern's mother suggested that she sell Wilber to Uncle Homer so that she could still visit him at the farm. Homer was sold to Mr. Zuckerman for six dollars.
Mr. Zuckerman had purchased Wilber so that his family could eat him in the winter. When Charlotte's message describing one of Wilber’s traits was found in the barn doorway Mr. Zuckerman had fallen for Charlottes trick. His farm was visited by onlookers from miles around. People came to visit the farm with each of the three reoccurring miracles. 'Some Pig', 'Terrific', 'Radiant' captivated them all and convinced them that Wilber was special enough to be entered in the county fair. Wilber was Zuckerman's Famous Pig.
Mr. Zuckerman was a kind man who decided to let Wilber live out his days at the barn.
